Extra Mile Transportation supported a fundraiser for the Pennsylvania Erie County Special Olympics. The 6th Annual Special Party for Special People Fund Raiser was supported by Extra Mile through the efforts of Joanna of the Erie branch.
Special Olympics provides training and competition in a variety of sports throughout the year for persons with mental disabilities. As the special athletes pay no fees to train or compete, and no government funding is available, supprting funds must be raised through private donations. All coaches and staff are volunteers and all money donated is used strictly for the benefit of the special athletes.
